Who writes Crypto Explained?

My name is Jazmin, and I grew up in a regular middle-class immigrant family in Argentina.

It’s a lovely country, with friendly people, breathtaking landscapes, and the best bbq and wine. Unfortunately, it is also the home of a highly corrupted populist government and institutions, where it is illegal to buy foreign currency, where foreign expenses are taxed at 65%, and where inflation rate hits 79% (official number, which means it’s probably much higher…)

Truth is, leaving money in the bank is really not the smartest choice as the inflation rate easily eats into it. Let alone the fact that Argentinian banks have a history of freezing assets.

And for the longest time, people have had no choice but to adapt.

Fortunately, today we can say that there is an alternative in the work: crypto.

Crypto is here to disrupt and stay. I like to think about it as a response to tackle the outdated institutions and urging problems that we face. We have advanced so much as societies, we have had so many technological breakthroughs, but our institutions and regulations have stayed pretty much the same over generations.

All this to say that, having a minimum level of financial literacy and how crypto works would empower and help us significantly in creating more and safer options for ourselves.

Even though the world is shifting towards crypto, it is still a very niche space, with only 1% of the global population involved. The high entry barriers are a combination of many things, including unfamiliarity, unknown dynamics, industry jargon, excess noise, high risks and volatility, etc…

Having gone through the same experience, I can see why it can be overwhelming and hard to understand.

And there is no denying that there are high risks involved, which is why my intention is to be part of the journey of helping more people gain access to crypto by understanding the key concepts and how it works, so you can make an informed decision of what works best for you.
